Dear Teamunruly:

I keep hearing that the good Dr. Z is a published author. I believe they are vanity press books, which means that no serious publisher would be interested in her work.

Keep up the good work.

A hearty hello to all of those on the Unruly staff!

Here is an update on the current craziness here at Piedmont Hills: As with the rest of the district we received dozens and dozens of layoff notices here at Piedmont Hills. The rhyme and reason for these notices made no sense at all. Some of our longest term employees, some of whom had been here for the entiretime that Piedmont has been operating were "Pinked" The truly hilarious part was the "Pinking" of our brand spanking new APED Michael Luna. Mr. Luna was hired to replace the space left open when the super moved Principal Dan Moser from Y.B.. back to Piedmont Hills and sent Juan Cruz back over to Y.B..

At first we here at PHHS were told that this admin position would be left vacant. Then just a few days later we saw that Mr. Moser had been instructed to begin interviewing candidates for this position. In fact, this position was never openly posted as all other AP positions traditionally have been, and the District has failed to answer our repeated questions as to why this position was not open for in house candidates to fill. A few days later we were told by the super that Mr. Luna would be joining us from the Unified District. Mr. Luna came to us for his first day here at Piedmont Hills on March 15, 2005. That night when he arrived home, in his mail box he found, yes you guessed it, A PINK SLIP !! Later in the week I had the pleasure of getting to talk to Mr. Luna. He sounds like a really nice guy, although he is extremely inexperienced. This is his first administrative job. His previous job was as a speech teacher at Willow Glenn elementary. With little or no administration experience he has been literally "thrown to the dogs" From what I can see he is taking his job here very seriously. He is spending long hours trying to comprehend his responsibilities and luckily has a great mentor in Dan Moser. Yet one must question the sanity of anyone who comes in to work as an administrator in this district today. How will the East Side ever be able to recruit competent people for these jobs if on the day they start they get "Pinked" ?

Parents and students are beginning to see the intense chaos caused by the supers attacks on teachers and the union. I heard from several students that both parents and students booed the super when she showed up at the Science Palooza and that more and more parents are asking their kids "are all these layoff notices hurting your classes ?" and resoundingly the kids are telling their parents "Yes they are !!!"

Our staff is demoralized. Everywhere we look our friends and colleagues are being abused and we are powerless to do anything about it. I guess I am lucky in that I did not receive a notice. But my wife did and we are very worried about how everything will work out for next fall. Even better, I am now the brunt of many a joke such as "how did you miss the hatchet" or "How will you teach, English, Math and Social Sciences all at the same time next year ?" My reply is always the same, " If I am the only teacher left here next year, the kids are all in real trouble!"

Sincerely

The "Pinked" Pirate Observer

Fellow pink-slipee,

Team Unruly:

dr zendejas speaking at andrew hill's parent empowerment workshop on saturday 1/22/05 related the story of speaking to kindergardeners after doing a puppet show for them... the gist was you want to go to college because to buy puppets you have to have a good job. some of them can be very expensive and cost upwards of $5000. going to college helps you further because to be a puppeteer you have to be able to speak many different parts, and put words into each puppet's mouth. It is fun to be a puppeteer because you can pull all the strings to control them.

dr can i speak to the nurse instead?

[Our emphasis - or should this go into Bon Gaffes. . . Freudian Slips?]

Team,

These PO's were approved at last night's board meeting:
501588 KZSF 1370 AM / WEEKLY RADIO SHOW SUPERINTENDENT 200.00

501872 Santa Clara County Office of ED TV PROGRAM SUPERINTENDENT 440.00

It looks like the Zendejas show is still on TV.
I looked over the website. Much of what I saw was news to me.

TeamUnruly,

Your website (www.unrulyrus.com) is truly disgusting and our teachers are being ill representing [sic] by its teachers association leadership, the same misleadership responsible for this site.

I've copied the board members you've trashed to make them aware of your attacks, Supt. Zendejas, as well as SJPD Chief Rob Davis. Maybe the SJPD cyber unit can discover who exactly (to a person) the cowardly source of this hate-filled site is. Also, our feckless leader, Mr. Don Mckell, East Side Teachers Association president is copied. He can make this site go away if he wants, but don't hold your breath.

EAST SIDE UNION SCHOOL BOARD: RAMIREZ AND MANN Next month's election could determine whether Superintendent Esperanza Zendejas can move forward with the bold changes and curriculum reforms that the East Side Union High School District deserves. Electing trustees who fully support and defend her is, in our mind, the overriding issue in the election.

NOTE: The sender obviously has not read the About Us page. Mr. McKell is not associated in any way with this site, nor has he been consulted. We don't even know if he is aware of Unrulyrus.com. Team Unruly is not associated in any way with the union administration, although some may be union members only as a coincidence of being employees of the District.
